If you are hiking in Valle Gesso, this is the best mountain hut you can visit. - Nice architecture from the 18th century - Very tasty local dishes, served like in a proper restaurant. Non-sweet alternatives for breakfast - Modern payment methods like paypal/credit cards available - 10-15% cheaper than all other huts in the area (July 2022)

This historic royal lodge (built around 1846) is now a pleasant mountain refuge. The scenery is spectacular, especially if you continue to Lago Valscura. You are very likely to meet deer and marmott.

Nice shelter (rifugio) in a wide open valley close to different nice trails. Easy to reach, even for families with kids. Can't say that I'm a huge fan of the architecture (it was the hunting ground of the Savoia family) but rooms and food are tip top.

Great starting point for a lot of beautiful hike, the hike to the rifugio is around 1:20 from there you can start a lot of hike. It was the hunting House of the old King of Italy.

Formerly a royal hunting lodge. Good food and friendly staff in a beautiful setting. Just over an hour's walk from Terme di Valdieri, suitable for families with small children. Ideal base for the circular walk around the alpine lakes higher up or back-country skiing in spring.
